So what do you get for joining?
– the most important benefit is that you help to keep live music in Launceston viable.

It is a big risk booking acts without confidence that enough tickets will be sold to cover artist and venue costs.

• The headline acts are working musicians who need to be paid so that they can continue their work
• Support acts are typically semi-pro or part-time artists who need an outlet to share their skills and enthusiasm for making live music.
• The town needs a vibrant music scene to provide cultural depth in times of trouble – there need to be a more rewarding alternative to “screen time” and community cultural organisations like Launceston Folk Club provide this.

Of course there is a direct benefit to you of joining –

• you get a special member price on all tickets – typically £2 off the advance price, £5 off the non-member door price.
• Members also get a more comprehensive newsletter covering other venues around the Tamar Valley area and further afield. Occasionally special member-only events may be organised arranged.

In addition you get the chance to get involved in helping run things – whether it’s helping on the night on the door or selling raffle tickets, helping with social media, writing programme notes and reviews, running the email list, joining in at open mic sessions, or more, being a member helps make the whole thing viable.
